– ABOUT
BRain Cancer Biobank
Brain Cancer Australia is an initiative established in 2015 under the Cooperative Trials Group for Neuro-Oncology (COGNO), based at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, University of Sydney. This initiative is designed to enhance the coordination and accessibility of brain cancer biospecimens across Australia for both adult and paediatric research.
By building capacity in Australia for best-practice brain cancer biobanking, this coordinated effort enhances biospecimen accrual rates nationwide and harmonises existing resources to improve specimen quality and availability.
Brain Cancer Australia’s integrated network of platforms encompasses research, registry trials, and patient care. This network enables the ethical and sustainable distribution of biospecimens while promoting both national and international research collaborations. By supporting research projects with clear scientific and health benefits, the biobank plays a crucial role in enhancing patient outcomes today, advancing new treatments for tomorrow, and uncovering cures for the future.

BIOPLATORMS PARTNERSHIP
Bioplatforms Australia’s partnership supports access to national state-of-the-art omics facilities, enabling researchers to generate and analyse biological data in pursuit of scientific understanding.
