ABOUT

CARDIOVASCULAR FRAMEWORK INITIATIVE

Bioplatforms is a partner of the Australian Cardiovascular Alliance (ACvA), established in 2015 by leading scientists and key scientific institutions and associations across Australia. ACvA advocates for increased funding for cardiovascular research while ensuring improved impact of dollars invested through strategic collaboration and an enhanced national platform. ACvA collaborates closely with all relevant jurisdictions, particularly state governments and Local Health Districts, to maximise efficiency and translational impact.

Through our strategic framework, Bioplatforms Australia has been providing resources since 2021 to support the leadership of the Australian Cardiovascular Alliance (ACvA). This initiative serves as a catalyst program, enabling cardiovascular researchers to collaborate with the Bioplatforms network to generate and analyse ‘omics data, thereby supporting national collaborative research grants.

Six Flagships to advance cardiovascular research were established to focus on policy, clinical trials, big data, precision medicine, bioengineering, and drug discovery. The Precision Medicine Flagship aligns with Bioplatforms Australia, offering potential for enhanced leadership and capacity building. Collaboration with Bioplatforms also supports efforts in big data analysis and partnerships with NCRIS peers for biomolecular integration.
